PDFly

Privacy Policy

Effective September 25, 2026 · Last updated September 25, 2026

This policy explains what information PDFly (pdfbencher.com) handles, why, for how long, and the choices you have. The short version: we do not ask you to create an account, files you upload are deleted automatically about two hours after the job, and the site is paid for by advertising.

1. Who we are

PDFly is operated by Regulad Co., Ltd., trading as PDFly, which is the controller of the personal information described here.

2. The files you process

Some tools run entirely inside your browser and never send your file anywhere. Tools that cannot work that way, such as OCR or converting an Office document, upload the file to our server, process it and return the result.

  • Retention. Every uploaded file and every generated result is deleted automatically two hours after the job was created. A clean-up process runs every ten minutes, so nothing outlives that window by more than a few minutes.
  • Access. Results can only be downloaded through a short-lived link tied to your job. We do not open, read, index or analyse the contents of your documents, and we do not use them to train any model.
  • No sharing. Files are processed on our own servers and are never sold, shared with advertisers or passed to any third party.
  • Web pages you convert. If you use HTML to PDF, our server visits the addresses you enter in order to render them. Those addresses are deleted with the job.

Please do not upload files you have no right to process, or files containing other people’s sensitive data unless you are permitted to handle it. See our Terms of Use.

3. What is collected automatically

When you use the site, the following is processed:

  • IP address — needed to deliver pages and results to you, and used for security and abuse prevention and, by our advertising partners, for coarse location.
  • Browser and device information — user agent, language and similar settings your browser sends by default.
  • Request details — the page or tool requested, time, referrer and response status, plus technical job details such as file size, page count and whether a job succeeded.
  • Cookies and similar identifiers set by our advertising partners, as described in section 5 and our Cookie Policy.

We do not run any analytics or visitor-tracking product of our own. We do not ask for your name, and we do not currently offer accounts or collect payment details on this site.

4. Cookies

PDFly itself sets no cookies. Advertising partners, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to collect information as a result of ad serving. The full list, and how to control them, is in our Cookie Policy.

5. Advertising

The site is free because it shows ads served by Google (Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager).

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

To learn more, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time:

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google’s certified consent management platform, integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, before cookies are used for advertising. If you refuse, you may still see non-personalised or limited ads. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy settings link in the footer.

Advertising never touches your documents: ad code cannot reach the files you are working on, and nothing you upload is shared with any advertiser.

6. Legal bases (EEA, UK, Switzerland)

  • Performing the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — processing the files you upload and returning the result.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — delivering and securing the site, preventing abuse and fixing faults.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — advertising cookies and personalised ads, which you may withdraw at any time.

Google acts as an independent controller for its own advertising processing.

7. How long we keep information

WhatKept for
Uploaded files and generated resultsDeleted automatically 2 hours after the job
Job status (tool, progress, result link)2 hours
Server logs (IP address, user agent, request details)Up to 30 days, for security and fault diagnosis
Emails you send us, and our replies12 months after the last message

8. Who receives information

We do not sell personal information. The only recipients are:

  • Google LLC — advertising (IP address, user agent, page address, cookie or ad identifiers).
  • Our hosting provider — storing and running the site and processing files on our behalf.
  • Authorities, where the law requires us to disclose information.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority.

California and other US states. Allowing advertising partners to show personalised ads may count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can opt out with the opt-out links in section 5 or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honour. We will not treat you differently for exercising any right.

To make a request, email support@regulad.com. We respond within 30 days (45 days where US state law allows). Because we do not hold accounts, we may not be able to link a request to log data; if so, we will tell you.

10. Children

PDFly is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International transfers and security

Our providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States and Vietnam. Where required, transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses or another lawful mechanism. The site is served over HTTPS, download links are short-lived, and access to our systems is restricted to the people who run them.

12. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
